My name is Nikkia L. Brown, Founder and Licensed Funeral Director of In Touch Funeral and Cremation Services, LLC, and Sunset Cremations, LLC.

My journey into this sacred profession was deeply personal. After experiencing the loss of a loved one, I encountered firsthand the pain that comes when empathy and compassion are missing from the funeral process. In that moment, I knew I wanted to be different. I wanted every family I served to feel seen, heard, and genuinely cared for — never as just another case, but as a family deserving of respect and heartfelt support. That conviction inspired the mission behind my company: to remain “In Touch” with every family from the very first call to the final farewell.

Today, In Touch Funeral and Cremation Services is a Five-Star Rated firm on Google, a reflection of the trust and satisfaction expressed by the families we’ve had the honor to serve. We proudly collaborate with numerous partners throughout Northwest Indiana and the Chicagoland area, ensuring seamless coordination and professional excellence in every service we provide.

I am a proud graduate of Worsham College of Mortuary Science (Class of March 2012), where I earned the credentials to meet and exceed all state requirements. Currently, I am a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in both Illinois and Indiana, committed to upholding the highest standards of care, professionalism, and integrity in every aspect of my work.

With every service, my goal remains the same — to comfort families, honor legacies, and help transform grief into lasting, meaningful memories.
