Vernon Jay Meadors Sr. graced this Earth on July 15, 1953 in the union of Jewell Kindred Meadors and Jean Alice Jackson. Originating in the Old Town neighborhood of Chicago, he was raised along side ten brothers and one sister. He attended George Manierre Public School and Robert A. Waller High School.
In the wee hours of February 16, 2020, God and his angels called him home.
Vernon was a musician who played many different instruments, but the guitar was his favorite. Throughout his life, he used his talents to teach and was member of various bands. Needless to say, his music touched a lot of lives. When he wasn't watching sports, his free time consisted of him being with his granddaughters who were his biggest joy of all.
Vernon was a tender-hearted man who often put others before himself. His heart was open so therefore he loved everybody.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Lisa Meadors: four children: Vernon Meadors Jr., Asheley Meadors and Carlyle Miller; his grandchildren: Tamera Watson and Katalina Meadors; his brothers: Mack Meadors ( Sandra), Byron Meadors (Maryama), Kenneth Meadors (Orene), Gordon Meadors (Lida), Ronald Meadors (Renee), Donald Meadors (Mabel) and a host of family and friends including the Miller family and the Watson family.
