Vernon Jay Meadors Jr. was born in the unity of Pandora Talbert and Vernon Jay Meadors Sr. on July 16, 1976. He was raised on the Northside of Chicago. He attended Von Humboldt Elementary and Hayt Elementary School as well as Lincoln Park High School. His father later married Lisa Woods who raised "V" as one of her own.
In 1997, Vernon met the love of his life, Shardae McKinnie and in that very moment he knew she would be his wife. Fifteen years after this union, Vernon fathered his stepson, Daelyn, who he cherished more than anything in the world. Vernon was a family man who put nothing above his family.
Vernon (Chug) was a multi-talented man, a jack of all trades. Music was always his passion but he loved to cook most of all. He was a giver more than a receiver who wanted only the best for his family and loved ones and was willing to do whatever it took to make sure they were good. In return, he was loved by many, forever living in the hearts he touched. Gone but never forgotten.
Vernon leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Shardae McKinnie; his son, Daelyn McKinnie; his mother, Lisa Meadors; mother-in-law, Shirley Newsom; father-in-law, Cleo McKinnie; two grandmothers: Earnestine Shields and Bornetta Newsom; grandfather, Harvey Newsom; sisters: Ragen Talbert, Asheley Meadors, Andrea Meadors, Pandora Whitelow, Draya Whitelow, Lanora Whitelow; brothers: Phillip Meadors, Carlyle Miller, Melvin Whitelow and Malik Whitelow as well as a host of aunties, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
