Sterling Hall was born on April 13, 1961, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Lillie B. Mhoon and Albert Jean Cotton, both of whom preceded him in death. He peacefully departed this life on January 28, 2026, in his hometown of St. Louis.
Sterling was a hardworking man who spent many years employed at The Rib Palace before continuing his work career at Luigi’s Pizza. He took pride in his work and the relationships he built along the way.
Sterling was well known for his silly spirit and unique sense of humor. He loved to joke around and was often heard saying phrases like “stuff like that there” and “dontcha know” in his signature voice, moments that perfectly captured his charm. Though serious by nature, his humor always found a way to shine through, effortlessly bringing laughter to those around him.
Though he had no children of his own, he cherished his siblings wholeheartedly and held them close to his heart. He shared an especially close and unbreakable bond with his only sister, Tangelyn, a relationship filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.
Sterling leaves to cherish his precious memories three brothers: Alando “Doe” Hall, Baron “JB” Mhoon, and Javarie “J.J.” Mhoon; and one sister, Tangelyn “Tangie” Mhoon. He also leaves a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will miss him greatly.
Sterling will be remembered for his warm heart, infectious laughter, and the love he poured into his family and friends. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
