Sherry Yvette Sims
Sherry Yvette Sims was born on November 21, 1962, to Deloris Griffin and Andrew Lindsey in Clarksdale, Mississippi, where her early education began.
She migrated to Chicago at the tender age of 13, graduating from Lindblom Tech High School. Later attending the University of Illinois Chicago, she received her Bachelor's Degree. She later furthered her education at the University of Phoenix, where she obtained a Masters Degree.
Sherry gave her life to God at an early age. She attended TTM (Truth Triumphant Ministry), St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church and Radical End Time Int1, Inc.
Sherry worked for Michael Reese, Advocate and Roseland Hospitals and Blue Cross Blue Shield. She also worked as a Lunch Monitor, Crossing Guard and a Storyteller for her kids' school.
Sherry had a passion for helping others at work, where she was a Union Steward (Teamsters). She also loved Scrapbooking with her girls, "The Mocha Divas".
Sherry was an entrepreneur, "Shery's Creations", where she personalized items such as: t-shirts, mugs and whatever else you would like.
She was preceded in death by: her adoptive parents, Melma and Roger Sims; biological parents, Deloris Griffin and Andrew Lindsey; sister, Angela Smith; brother, Aundray Lindsey; along with other beloved family members.
Sherry leaves to cherish her memory: her three children, Letrianma "Lee Baby", Robert Chubbs" and Janette "Nettie Pooh"; her grandchildren, Da'vie', Jeremiah, Braylen, MaRiyah and Joumee; her stepmother, Lorice Lindsey; her siblings, Roger Sims, Katrina Lindsey, Keith Lindsey, Laketa Gardner, Alease (Lemuel) Porter, Monica Edwards, Monique Edwards and Tejuana Hardison; her favorite cousin, Mashaunna Williams; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Her love, laughter, conversation and her energy will be greatly missed by all, who had the pleasure of knowing her.
