Richard Burch was born October 18, 1953 in Greenwood, Mississippi to Richard Burch Sr. and Lena Mae Rodgers- Burch. "Jr." as he was affectionately called, was the first born son to his parents. Jr, was loved by every one of his siblings, he was their protector.
Jr. was educated in the chicago Public School system, often finding himself on the honor role. After highschool, at the age of 17 with the permission of his parents, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps. He served 4 years during the Vietnam war era. During his time in the Marines, he was a Field Artillery Battery man. Jr. was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and Expert Rifle Badge.
on June 25 1994, Jr. was united in holy matrimony to Marva Wiley-Burch of San Diego whom proceeded him in death. Jr. was baptised in Church as a child, and He always looked to the Lord for guidance and Protection. He enjoyed reading and he was a very talented artist. Jr also loved music some of his favorites being, Curtis Mayfield, The Dells and the Dramatics. Jr was a generous man. He was tall and handsome with a smile that would light up a room. He had a big heart and would give his last penny to those in need. He was a devoted and loving son, brother and father. We will forever appreciate all of his graciousness and acts of kindness. Jr. will certainly be forever in our hearts.
Jr. was proceeded in death by his father Richard Burch Sr. , his brother Alexander and his wife Marva Wiley-Burch. He leaves to cherish his memories, His mother Lena Mae Rodgers-Burch, Barbara(Larry), Robert, Isaiah, Zenobia, Alice(Anthony), Hazel, Cindy(Donald), Jeanette, Tina, Vanita(David). His Children: Richard III, Teria (Shawn, Shawn jr, Temia), Melissa, Terrell, Marlon, Ricardo. A host of relatives and friends.
