Mose Ella Young was born on March 20, 1935 to proud parents, John H. Laird and Perlena Laird in Sardis, Mississippi. She was one of seven children. She attended Booker T. Washington in Memphis, TN where she excelled as a leader in her academics. Mose Ella confessed her faith in Christ at a young age.
Mose Ella joined New Landmark Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Joseph Sylvester. Later she joined Wells of Salvation Ministries under Pastor B. A. Kings. She remained a devoted and faithful member until her passing. In 1956, Mose Ella was united in holy matrimony to Mose Young. In this union, five beautiful children were born: Ricardo, Darryl, Torsha, Tremel and Reginald.
Mose Ella was employed by the Illinois Department of Human Services for over thirty-five years, which she happily retired from.
Mose Ella had a great passion for the Lord and lived her life honoring Him. Following Christ and living a life of worship meant everything to her. She was an amazing intercessor, prophet and soldier for the Lord. She was known to intercede on behalf of those she knew and didn*t know. She was a proud soprano and loved worshipping God through song. She believed strongly in the Word of God and trusted God in every area in her life.
Mose Ella loved her family more than anything and cherished the moments she shared with them. She leaves to cherish her memory: her children: Darryl, Torsha, Tremel and Reginald; her siblings: Mattie, Ann, Jean, Willie Frank and James Edward; her grandchildren: Nikisha, Tylecia, Eddie, Arlilian, Jessica, Malcolm, Terrance and Jhelin; eleven great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
