Bridget Allen Life Story

Bridget Marie Allen was the second child and first born daughter to the union of Walter James and Carlotta Marie Allen on Sept 28th 1971.

Bridget was who she was and she never pretended to be anything else. To quote one of her cousins, Bridget was "Straight, with no chaser". She didn't mix words and expressed often with fury how she felt. You also knew not to mess with her when she obliged you with one of her infamous side-eye and scrunched lip faces. Despite talk, she did everything she wanted to do. In a private ceremony, Bridget married to Randall Lewis. She knew it was cause talk, but she could not let that keep her from being just being herself. Bridget was also outgoing, personable and loved those around her fiercely. She loved to laugh and her laughter was contagious. When Bridget was happy, being around her, so were you.

Bridget always made sure to take care of business before anything else. Making her doctor appointments, setting up her rides to dialysis and getting up at 3 am to make her breakfast and get herself ready became her norm. She didn't have a lot, but what she did have, Bridget made sure to always share. She was independent and loyal and always found a way out of no way.

Like her mother Carlotta, Bridget started to enjoy traveling. During one of her first trips to New York City, Bridget harassed a NYPD officer, while wearing her Chicago Cubs jacket, to take a selfie with her. On another trip to Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Bridget got a complete kick out of driving behind an Amish horse and buggy. While visiting an apple orchard in Maryland, she ate enough apples to bake a least a dozen pies! Taking a cruise to the Bahamas with her brother and sister was a dream. Over the last few years, she has also traveled to New Jersey, Washington DC, Philadelphia and Niagara Falls New York.

Bridget enjoyed being a grandmother. Affectionately calling her two youngest grandsons, vanilla and "Chocalit". In return they lovingly called her "Fat-Fat". She also enjoyed a bonding friendship with Kelli Raybon who fondly called Bridget "Big Dog".

Bridget also enjoyed playing Bingo Blitz. Talking to her on the phone, you could hear the bells and whistles of the game going off in the background. Her favorite shows were 48 hours and Judge Judy.

People thought Bridget was dealt a bad hand when it came to life but she was blessed beyond measure.  Bridget was designed and destined to be one of God's warriors. He did not select someone that would be meek and mild but someone that would stand and fight. When Bridget became ill, she did her best to not let it keep her down.

On the evening of November 29th 2022 at 10:04pm, Bridget looked towards the heavens and took her final breathe. She was surrounded by her daughters, her husband and a couple of close friends.

Bridget Marie Allen leaves to cherish her life: Her father, Walter James Allen Sr; her daughters, Dantaysha Marie Raybon, Domonique Louise Raybon and Dymond Elizabeth Raybon; four grandchildren, Ja'Mariaa Marie-Nicole, Ja'Marion Antonio-Lee, Demetrius Michael-Lontrell (Chocalit) and Ace Dominic (Vanilla); a brother, Walter James Allen Jr; sister, Belinda Elizabeth Allen; an overwhelming host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends
